Fei Hong Five Metals × Onlygo Case Study

Fei Hong has specialized in custom metal products and metal surface finishing for more than 30 years of OEM/ODM zinc alloy manufacturing. Together with design brand Onlygo, we produced the Animal Warning Sign Pin collection: a series of 20 metal pin badges.

Design concept

The collection takes the classic yellow-and-black triangular warning sign and fills it with clean animal silhouettes, catching each animal at its liveliest and funniest moment. From black bears and leopard cats in the mountains, to sea turtles in the ocean, to the “crazy cat” waiting to cause trouble at home, every scene becomes a small badge with a playful twist.

A warning sign is meant to be serious. Put a panda munching bamboo or a black cat with its back arched on one, and the warning turns into a smile. That contrast is what makes the series work: one triangular shape, different silhouettes and slogans (such as “Slow Down Leopard Cats” and “Crazy Cat Inside”), and together the 20 designs form a full wall of collectible animal signs.

This project shows how Fei Hong takes an illustrated design into metal pin badge production. Onlygo’s design team created the animal silhouettes and slogans; Fei Hong handled zinc alloy die-casting, black e-coating, full-color digital printing and pin assembly, all completed at our own production facility.

The Story Behind the Designs

On mountain roads, at the beach, even on someone’s front gate, you have probably seen a yellow triangle with a black border. These signs usually say one thing: “Animals here — take care.” The Animal Warning Sign Pin shrinks that familiar symbol to a 35 mm metal pin badge and lets each animal on it play its own small scene.

On the mountain road｜Waiting for you to slow down

The leopard cat is the design with a mission. A spotted leopard cat walks across the sign under the words “Slow Down”, echoing road signs in Taiwan’s foothills that ask drivers to slow down for the species. The Formosan black bear appears twice: once sitting alone, with the V-shaped mark on its chest clearly visible, and once as a mother walking side by side with her cub under the gentle slogan “Be Bear Aware”. The Taiwan blue magpie flies across its sign, trailing a long blue tail.

The rest of the cast has plenty of character too: a sika deer standing tall, a pangolin slowly crossing the road, two giraffes leaning together, three bats circling, a red panda peeking out, and a family of alert meerkats on watch. The biggest contrast comes from the two “Do not Feed” designs: a giant panda happily eating bamboo, and a raccoon holding a snack with an “I didn’t do anything” expression. Hard not to feed either of them.

Everyday life｜A warning sign for your own front door

Two designs bring the theme into human life. A wide-eyed beagle stares back at you under “I See You”, a nod to the detector dogs that check luggage at airport customs. A black cat, back arched and tail high, warns “Crazy Cat Inside” — a sign every cat owner understands.

At the seaside｜A new cast by the water

A sea turtle paddles slowly beside “Don’t Touch Sea Turtles”. A great white shark bursts out of the waves under “Caution Sharks”. Stingrays glide in a small group, jellyfish trail their tentacles in the “Jellyfish Zone”, and a penguin takes a tumble on the ice: “Slip Hazard”.

Warning-sign shaped mold: Die-cast in zinc alloy, molded to the outline of a triangular warning sign with rounded corners, rather than a standard round or square badge, so it stands out on a bag
Black e-coated frame: The metal frame of the badge is finished with high-temperature black e-coating, giving a solid black metal edge that defines the outline of the badge

This collection uses a pin post with a butterfly clutch, suitable for canvas bags, jackets, caps and other fabrics. For OEM/ODM orders, the fitting can be changed to suit your needs; other common options include safety pins and magnetic backs. Our sales team can recommend the right fitting for your use case.

Can I choose the plating color?

Yes. The metal frame of this collection is finished with black e-coating. For OEM/ODM projects, you can choose the plating color that suits your design and budget — please ask our sales team for the available options.

Founded in 1996, Fei Hong Five Metals Wares Co., Ltd. specializes in the development and application of zinc alloy die-casting. With more than 30 years of OEM/ODM manufacturing experience, we continue to broaden our product range and raise the quality and added value of what we make.

In 1999, Fei Hong set up its R&D and design department. Our first original product, a trolley token for European supermarket shopping carts, was well received by buyers and industry peers around the world, and marked the start of our ODM services. From 2000, our Combined Movable Pin was used for commemorative pins for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and Disney theme parks. In 2002, our factory passed Disney’s factory audit, and it has since also passed the Universal Studios audit — a sign that our production and management systems meet the standards international brands require.

In 2003, we opened our Shanghai office to coordinate factory engineering, product design and our Hong Kong logistics center. In 2013, we added a plastic injection molding line; combining metal, plastic and other materials gives designs more options while keeping costs under control. Over the years, we have produced custom gifts and souvenirs for brands and events including Disney, Marvel, BMW, Porsche, Lacoste and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (see our clients).

Is your company a manufacturer or a trader?
Feihong is a manufacture of Zinc Alloy production for more than 30 years in China Fujian province. Will supply you excellent quality products, and got the economic price directly from the factory, without the intermediate trader cost.
If your factory, or products has the certificate?
Feihong have got the BSCI certificate, Disney certificate (ILS Social Compliance Audit), also has the permit for solution discharge that the government of China admit. Materiala and most of the products have the inspect report, and every year, some structured ODM products are patented.
What’s your MOQ? And why?
OEM custom design products is 500pcs; In order to apportion your Mold charge, production cost, get more competitive price.
ODM existing mold products is 500pcs; To reduce the purchasing cost, achieve your best profit.
How long time is will take after we have place the order?
After the artwork is confirmed, lead time for samples is 7 days, while for bulk order is about 21-28 days, add the extra delivery time on the way, will be able to get the products on hands. If the special design is hard to production, or the quantity is very large, production time will need to update. If any other question, pls feel free to contact us. For the items that which have existing mold, the sample and bulk order lead time will be shorter.
How to pay?
It will need to pay all in advance if you order our products for the fist time, then we will be able to proceed order. T/T is the normal payment that we usual use. If the total order price is under US$300.00, Paypal and West Union is acceptable.
What kind of delivery way that we could chose?
It is acceptable to delivery goods by Air/Sea from Xiamen or Hong Kong, or you could chose any one international courier company, so many choice to help you achieve getting goods as sooner as possible, or find a way to save your shipping cost.
